Digital Champion

What You'll Do:

Digital Champion (Volunteer role)

By being a Digital Champion with Screen Share you will be providing fundamental digital skill support to asylum seekers and refugees in a relaxed and welcoming environment at one of our digital drop-in’s. Our learners are on their own educational journey and will need your support to learn different digital skills.

The support you will provide will be done on a one-to-one basis and our learners will come to you with subjects they want to learn. This may include: helping someone to complete an online form, set up an email, use google drive or learn how to join a Zoom call.

We are looking for volunteers who are reliable, trustworthy and approachable.

You will be working with people who may have been on a difficult journey to get to the UK and may have experienced trauma. Therefore it is important to provide a level of support that is friendly and clear. Our Digital Champion training package will get you in the best place to support and communicate with our learners.

Screen Share exists to support, inform and advocate for digital inclusion for refugees and asylum seekers across the UK.

Our mission is to end refugee digital exclusion in the UK.

Why You'll Love It:

Your Impact

Providing digital skills to refugees and asylum seekers will be valuable and have a lasting impact. Many of them have ambitions and career goals and you will be a part of their journey to achieve them.

You will find that this role is rewarding and satisfying as you make a difference to someone else's life.

You will also be a part of a community of Digital Champions, sharing knowledge and ideas in the pursuit of ensuring that every refugee has access to a connected device and the skills to use it to achieve their goals

If you would like to join the Screen Share family and become a  Digital Champion then apply today by scanning this QR code and completing our referral form.
