You will be working with vulnerable children in West London (aged 5-11) with a history of various difficulties, including mental health, special education needs, history of abuse, etc. More than 90% of our children are referred to by social services and live in very difficult environments.

Our upcoming project is May Half-term project, Tuesday 28th May - Friday 31st May (over the May half-term holidays, 10am-4pm.

We have projects every school holiday, in Christmas, Easter, Summer, and Half Terms, Monday to Friday, from approximately 10am-4pm.
Upcoming holiday projects:
27-31 May 2024
29 July - 30 August 2024

In terms of volunteering and signing up, we are very flexible, so if you can join for just one day that is absolutely fine. We completely appreciate our volunteers have other commitments so aim to be flexible, however as we work with children it's super important volunteers are punctual and turn up to days they have signed up for.

Your role will include

  • Supporting children at Solidarity Sports projects during school holidays.
This may include running through playgrounds with our children, supporting them as they try bouldering for the first time, ice-skating, and many more fun activities.
  • Building a positive, trusting relationship with our children, and making them feel special and valued at all times during our projects.

All volunteers will be DBS checked before volunteering. Our onboarding process includes the enhanced DBS check, reference check, safeguarding quiz, introductory training.

During the school term we also have after school clubs running every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 3:30-5:30pm.

What You'll Learn:
  • All introductory training is provided by the Solidarity Sports team before the project, other training opportunities may also come up along the way to build CV and experience.
  • We have projects during term holidays (e.g. half-term, Christmas), if you continue volunteering with us you will have opportunities to undertake further training such as in child safeguarding.
What We're Looking For:

We need enthusiastic volunteers who are ready to dedicate their energy and affection!
