We are an education charity that support young people facing barriers to higher education, apprenticeships and early careers. We work with over 20 universities and more than 150 schools, sixth-form centres and FE colleges across the country. We design and develop programmes for a range of sector-leading organisations.
In this project, we are partnering with the Sweaty Betty Foundation, who are funding workshops in schools for teenage girls to increase their engagement in physical activity and learn how physical activity can help them develop positive wellbeing and skills that will be useful throughout their education and careers.
We know that young people across the UK have different access to opportunities. We want to ensure that all young people have the skills, knowledge and confidence to progress in any education or career field. It is important to remove barriers that young people face and to ensure progression is not determined by priviledge.
For this project, we are looking for volunteers who can be relatable role models to the young people we work with. We are looking for volunteers who can speak confidently to a classroom (with training and support) about their education/career journey so far, and the impact physical activity has had in their life.
We work on a variety of projects with lots of young people across the country. This means we have unique insight into what works and positive relationships with schools and partners. The project we are running with the Sweaty Betty Foundation is a new pilot project to see if relatable, active role models can have an impact on the engagement of teenage girls in physical activity.
Our Opportunities
We are looking for women and non-binary students who are passionate about physical activity and the impact it can have on your wellbeing and skill development to deliver workshops in schools. No minimum time commitment, full training provided!
