The Wren Project offers free, active listening sessions run by trained volunteers to our 'Wrens' (people living with autoimmune diseases).
Our charity relies upon a team of dedicated volunteers who train in active listening and quiet support - providing supportive, empathetic listening to people in distress as a result of their diagnosis.
We aim to bridge the gap between medical services and advice-led organisations, creating a supportive space for people to talk openly, without fear or judgement, about how their autoimmune disease is affecting their lives.
Many people living with autoimmune diseases are grappling with rare, painful and often invisible diseases. They might feel lonely, isolated or grieving their lives pre-diagnosis. We aim to provide emotional support for people who often feel that their voices are not heard. We are a community that understands. We exist so that people can feel less lonely.
We look for empathetic individuals looking to support others. You don't need to have any existing knowledge of autoimmune diseases. You simply have a desire to quietly support over a video call, once a fortnight.
We are a non-advice, non-judgemental service.
