Caledonian junior parkrun
parkrun’s mission statement: To create a healthier and happier planet. parkrun is such a simple concept: turn up every Saturday and walk, jog or run 5k, or if you’re a junior then 2k every Sunday. You can also volunteer in numerous different roles too! It doesn’t matter how fast you go. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing. What matters is taking part. There are now parkrun events each Saturday and Sunday in 20 countries all around the world. All events are organised by a group of wonderful, dedicated, local volunteers – our hi-vis heroes! parkrun is all about inclusiveness and wellbeing. We want as many people as possible to feel part of a real local community brought together by our events, as well as our global parkrun family. The format of parkrun is simple: register once, print your barcode, then turn up and take part wherever you want, whenever you want.
ABOUT US:

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 2km event for juniors (4 to 14 year olds), every Sunday at 9am. The event takes place at Caledonian Park, Market Road, London, N7 9PL. The event is entirely organised by volunteers. Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee in the wonderful Tolpuddle Cafe in the park next to the clocktower and playground - please come and join us!

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

The aim is to get children involved, active and enjoying themselves in green spaces. As well as the benefits of physical activity for children, some adults also participate alongside their children, supporting their physical activity too. Furthermore it is clear that there are mental health benefits of being active in green spaces. Finally, it develops a sense of community among the children, adults and volunteers involved, as well as introducing the concept of civic engagement (volunteering) to children.

OUR VALUES:
Our guiding principles for volunteering are: Volunteer for the love of it Treat everyone as a friend Be kind and respectful Unite as a team Be reliable, responsible and attentive Be helpful and enthusiastic Do your best Respect our principles
