Unfold (Empowerment through Mentoring)
We tackle loneliness, enabling young people and parents to identify and achieve their potential, building their confidence and skills to independently manage the challenges they face, preventing a slide into crisis.
ABOUT US:

We work with young people aged 10 – 25, and mothers with children aged 5+ offering one-to-one support from trained and supervised volunteer mentors, who empower our mentees to get to where they want to be, through achieving our aims of boosting confidence, building lasting independence and connecting mentees with 1 or more organisation or service.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:
  • By becoming a mentor with Unfold you will be contributing to supporting those who often face exclusion, this is because, although we are open to everyone, 85% of the families we support are single headed households led by a woman, 93% of our service users are from racialised groups, 60% of our referrals come from other supporting services and In the last 18 months, we expanded and adapted our services to support Afghan evacuees and asylum seekers.
  • Mentors will help break cycles of social isolation, improve family cohesion and wellbeing.
  • By being part of the Unfold mentor family you will be helping us to have greater reach in making a positive impact on the lives of many vulnerable families and young people, living in Westminster.
  • With the opportunity to be a mentor on our Asylum Seeker programme, you will be a welcoming and reliable person of support in often difficult and challenging times, supporting the navigation of achieving goals in new environment.
