Fundraising and Events Officer Volunteer

What You'll Do:

We are looking for a passionate and organised Fundraising and Events Officer Volunteer to assist with the day-to-day management of fundraising activities and help implement a new fundraising strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity for a student or recent graduate who wants to gain experience in the charity sector, working closely with our small fundraising and communications teams.

As part of this role, you will support the planning and execution of upcoming fundraising sports events, as well as help with online fundraising campaigns, including social media advertising. You will play a key role in driving BPAS's fundraising efforts, allowing us to continue providing abortion services and fight for reproductive rights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising Strategy Support: Assist with the implementation of BPAS's new fundraising strategy, working to increase donor engagement and contributions.
  • Day-to-Day Fundraising Management: Help manage ongoing fundraising activities, including donor outreach, data management, and supporting various fundraising initiatives.
  • Event Support: Support the planning, promotion, and coordination of upcoming fundraising sports events and stakeholder engagement events. Assist with event logistics and participant engagement.
  • Donor Stewardship: Assist in maintaining strong relationships with donors, including sending thank-you notes, updates on BPAS’s work, and information on how their contributions are making an impact.
  • Fundraising Content: Help create compelling fundraising content, including email appeals, social media posts, and event promotion materials.
Why You'll Love It:
  • Gain hands-on experience in the charity sector, with a focus on fundraising, donor engagement, and event planning.
  • Work on high-impact projects that directly contribute to BPAS’s mission of ensuring reproductive rights and access to healthcare.
  • Build your professional network within the nonprofit sector.
  • Flexible volunteering hours that can be adjusted around your studies or other commitments.
  • Enhance your CV and develop transferable skills in fundraising, communications, and event planning.
What You'll Learn:

As a Fundraising and Events Officer Volunteer at BPAS, you'll gain valuable experience in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and donor engagement. You'll learn how to support and implement fundraising strategies, from managing day-to-day activities to promoting and coordinating events like sports fundraisers. You'll also develop skills in creating and running social media ad campaigns to boost donations and engage supporters. In addition, you'll gain insights into donor stewardship, campaign analysis, and the broader impact of fundraising in driving change for causes within reproductive rights and healthcare access.

What We're Looking For:
  • Passion for Fundraising: A genuine interest in charity work and raising funds for a cause that matters.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay on top of deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for donors and supporters.
  • Event Planning Experience: Experience in planning or supporting events (particularly sporting events and meetings / conferences).
  • Social Media Knowledge: Familiarity with social media platforms and experience supporting or running campaigns (experience with Facebook/Instagram Ads is a plus) will be highly beneficial.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with different teams and take initiative in driving fundraising projects forward.
