Christmas Day Volunteers

What You'll Do:

We need a team of volunteers to support us to deliver a truly memorable Christmas Day for isolated older adults in north London. Every Christmas for the past 49 years we have been able to offer those who may otherwise have been alone on Christmas Day a delicious hot lunch and entertainment, and since 2020 have also been delivering hampers containing gifts and Christmas cheer.

Last year we welcomed 104 adults to our building on Christmas Day and provided 214 hampers across Haringey and north London.

To make this happen again this year, we need over 100 volunteers, and I am delighted that you are keen to share your skills with us.

We need present wrappers, cooks, decorators and table hosts, and we are particularly in need of drivers to help our vulnerable guests travel to and from Jacksons Lane on Christmas Day, and to deliver our hampers. So if you have a car I strongly encourage you to consider volunteering as a driver.

Why You'll Love It:

Christmas Day at Jacksons Lane is fantastic festive experience, bringing joy and community to those who may otherwise be spending Christmas alone. Volunteers in the past have shared how impactful it has been for them to make direct different to the guests.

Volunteers here on Christmas Day are able to join in the festivities, and are provided with a Christmas lunch, if they want one.
