As an Administrative Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in helping us manage a large volume of paper files, working with confidential information and ensuring it’s properly digitised and stored. Your responsibilities will include:
- Scanning and digitising paper files, ensuring they are accurately uploaded to our databases.
- Organising and archiving digital files, ensuring they can be easily accessed by the team when needed.
- Boxing and preparing paper files for secure destruction, following confidentiality protocols.
- Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail throughout, as handling sensitive and confidential data is an essential aspect of the role.
This role is vital to the efficient running of our organisation, and you’ll have the opportunity to gain real-world experience in data administration and archiving.
Although the role is administrative, it offers several valuable benefits:
- Hands-on experience in data administration and digital archiving, highly transferable skills that can enhance your CV and career prospects.
- The opportunity to contribute to a respected charity, knowing that your work plays a key role in maintaining the efficiency and confidentiality of our services.
- Experience working with digital systems and databases, skills that are in high demand across many sectors.
- A chance to develop your organisational skills and demonstrate your ability to handle detail-oriented and important tasks with care.
- Out-of-pocket expenses, such as travel, will be reimbursed.
- We’re looking for someone who:
- Has basic computer skills and is comfortable working with databases and scanning software (we will provide training on our systems).
- Is organised and has a strong attention to detail, ensuring the integrity of our data and records.
- Can adhere to strict confidentiality requirements and is committed to following Citizens Advice’s principles of independence, impartiality, and respect for privacy.
- Can work independently, managing their tasks with minimal supervision, but knows when to ask for help if needed.
This role requires a commitment of a few hours per week, and we’ll provide full guidance and support. Once you’re familiar with our processes and systems, you’ll be able to manage tasks independently, with supervision available as needed. Confidentiality and adherence to Citizens Advice principles are crucial throughout your work.
