What You'll Do: 

1. Social Media and Content Volunteer

Are you passionate about social media and content creation? Do you want to use your skills to help a charity communicate its work while ensuring inclusivity and thoughtfulness in every message? Join us as a Social Media and Content Volunteer at Citizens Advice Lewisham (CAL) and help us promote our services, events, and values while fostering a message of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

 

As a Social Media and Content Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in managing our online presence while ensuring that all content is aligned with Citizens Advice’s core values of impartiality, independence, and equity. You will also help us raise awareness of our commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) by crafting messages that are thoughtful, inclusive, and respectful. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and scheduling posts across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others, ensuring that our content resonates with our local and national audiences.
  • Developing a content calendar to keep our social media channels active and engaging.
  • Writing blog posts and newsletters that highlight our services, promote inclusivity, and reflect our charity’s commitment to supporting diverse communities.
  • Ensuring all content respects Citizens Advice’s political impartiality, with a strong focus on communicating about sensitive social issues in an inclusive and thoughtful way.

 

2. Photography and Videography Volunteer

Do you have a passion for photography or videography? Are you looking to use your skills to create promotional materials that highlight the important work of a local charity? We’re looking for a Photography and Videography Volunteer at Citizens Advice Lewisham to capture our events, services, and impact in dynamic and creative ways.

 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating visual content for our events and campaigns. Your work will help us showcase the work we do and promote our services to the community. Responsibilities may include:

  • Capturing high-quality photos at our events and community activities.
  • Creating short promotional videos to highlight our services and the impact we make.
  • Editing and preparing media for use across our website, social media, and promotional materials.

 

3. Graphic Design Volunteer

Are you a graphic designer looking to use your skills to support a local charity while gaining experience working with a well-recognised brand? Citizens Advice Lewisham is seeking a Graphic Design Volunteer to help create visually appealing materials that promote our services and values, all while working within our established brand guidelines.

 

As a Graphic Design Volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to create both digital and print materials that effectively communicate our message to the public. You’ll work with clear brand guidelines to ensure all designs are consistent with Citizens Advice’s identity. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing flyers, posters, and brochures to promote our services, events, and campaigns.
  • Creating digital assets such as infographics and banners for our website and social media.
  • Collaborating on campaigns to ensure all designs align with our branding and messaging standards.

  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and sensitively about topics such as equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Awareness of how to approach sensitive social issues and communicate with empathy and respect for all audiences.
  • A commitment to ensuring that all content reflects the diverse communities we serve.
  • A commitment to political neutrality, ensuring that all social media and written content remains impartial.
  • The ability to work independently, while ensuring content stays aligned with our messaging guidelines.

 

2. Photography and Videography Volunteer

We’re seeking someone with professional experience in photography or videography who has their own equipment and can work independently. You’ll need:

  • Experience in photography, videography, or filmmaking.
  • Ability to edit photos and videos for professional use.
  • Creativity and an eye for capturing impactful moments.
  • Flexibility, as you’ll only be required by appointment at key events and activities.

 

3. Graphic Design Volunteer

 

We’re looking for someone with experience in graphic design who can work independently and meet deadlines. You will need:

  • Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Creativity and attention to detail, ensuring all designs are professional and effective in communicating our message.
  • The ability to work within established brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all materials.
  • A commitment to ensuring that all designs align with Citizens Advice’s values of independence, impartiality, and equality.
