- Mentors for refugees women, will empower mentees to overcome challenging circumstances and help them find ways to make social connections and integrate with their local community and groups, referring and signposting them to other organisations providing more specialist support if needed.
- Through encouragement and active listening, you will support your mentees’ mental wellbeing, by providing a safe space to discuss the challenges faced as woman face and the increased challenges and barriers your mentee will face being a mother and a refugee.
- Being trained in positive psychology and coaching style techniques, you will support your mentee to help them achieve their goals and get them where they want to be.

- You may be matched with an individual from a different culture, age, or gender to yourselves, allowing you to gain an understanding of life from a perspective different to your own.
- You will develop an understanding not only in the experience and challenges refugee women face, but the stages and services of support available.
- Through our compulsory monthly group supervision, you will have the opportunity to share your journey and support others though your learning.
- There is no one size fits all, your individuality is what makes you unique! We welcome volunteers age 21+ from all backgrounds, with life experience, who are non-judgemental and will be committed to support other women on their journeys.
- We ask volunteers to commit to delivering mentoring 1–2-hour a week, over a period of 24 sessions. Through mentee and mentor testimonies we have seen the positive impact holding sessions in person vs online has, and so we would ask any perspective volunteers to be prepared to be available for all in person sessions should this be the required need of your mentee.
