Cooking Project Leader

What You'll Do:

FoodCycle Projects are where the magic happens, as every week we welcome guests for a delicious, wholesome meal and friendly conversation. Each Project is run on the ground by a team of 8 or more lead volunteers called Project Leaders, who take ownership and make decisions about its day-to-day running.

Each leader takes on a specific role to ensure the smooth running of their FoodCycle Project.

As a volunteer Cooking Project Leader, you’ll be instrumental in making sure our guests enjoy delicious, wholesome three-course meals every week, making use of the surplus food supplies collected and delivered to your kitchen. You’ll induct cooking volunteers into the kitchen, facilitate the team, create recipe ideas, and lead on the preparation and cooking of the meal.

Why You'll Love It:

It's a great way to learn and demonstrate your leadership skills, whilst also giving back to your community! It's a once-a-month commitment to lead the session for a minimum of 6 months.

What You'll Learn:

You'll learn a whole range of skills, from time-management, leadership, team-work, communication, cooking skills and much more! We offer free training to all of our Project Leaders including Food Safety Level 2, Food Allergens, safeguarding, nutrition, conflict management and more!

What We're Looking For:

You don't need any previous experience, just a want to help the community! You'll be supported with a full induction and training and will a join a supportive team of other project leaders. We ask that Project Leaders commit to volunteering once a month, for a minimum of 6 months (with the option to do more if you like!)
