Policy, Advocacy and Research Volunteer

What You'll Do: 

Who are we?

At CPRE London we campaign to save and promote green spaces in Greater London and make London a better, greener and healthier place for everyone to live in, work in and enjoy.

We are part of the national network of CPRE, the countryside charity. 

We are currently looking for The Policy, Advocacy and Research Volunteer who will have the opportunity to investigate key issues related to CPRE London’s mission to support London in moving closer to being a zero-carbon city, help strengthen biodiversity, and nurture nature for the good of wildlife and Londoners.  

Training and support will be available to help you develop in your role.

 

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • To research key issues including those relating to opportunities for woodland creation and hedgerow planting in London’s Green Belt 
  • To support the deepening of relationships with key stakeholders that could potentially help with identifying Green Belt woodland creation and hedgerow planting opportunities
  • To help identify and build relationships with key relevant decision-makers  
  • To support progress reporting on our Green Belt woodland creation programme funded by the GLA
  • Supporting how we work on London Urban Forest Partnership

What We're Looking For: 

Skills / Experience:

Essential (E) or Desirable(D).  Please provide examples or evidence where possible.  

  • Excellent written communication skills (E) 
  • Strong research skills (E) 
  • Good interpersonal skills (E) 
  • Educated to at least degree level (E) 
  • Strong understanding of environmental issues (E)  
  • Some academic background related to environmental issues at either degree or masters level (D)
  • Some past experience of policy, advocacy or research work (D) 
  • Have access to a computer and the internet at home and be confident using them (E)
