Collection Tin Coordinator

What You'll Do: 

We're a charity that supports children with Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH), a rare and terminal metabolic disorder. We're looking for  a Collection Tin Coordinator volunteer to help manage our collection tins within your local community.

This means:

  • Contacting local businesses, either face-to-face or over the phone to find suitable locations to place our collection tins.
  • Developing strong relationships with the collection tin sites.
  • Deliver collection tins to the agreed locations and ensure necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Keep records of where all tins have been placed.
  • Follow up on the placed collection tins every 3 months to assess whether they are full and need collecting and replacing.
  • Collect, empty, count, bank and record donations from the tins.
  • Sending collection tin sites a thank you letter with the total they have raised each year.

 

PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Minimum age 18
  • Access to a vehicle (or access to well connected public transport) is needed to carry out the role
  • Time commitment: flexible to fit in with your life commitments
  • There will be a necessity for travelling and parking in unknown places to begin with
  • Able to physically access shops and other popular locations. Access to sites will vary.
  • Lifting and transporting collection tins will be required.
  • This role requires considerable interaction with the public
  • An ID badge or letter will be provided and must be worn/carried while carrying out your role
  • This role is year-round, but collection and tin returns should take place every three months.

  • Comfortable with light physical activity (lifting/transporting collection tins)
  • Access to a vehicle or public transport to reach local collection sites
  • Enthusiastic about supporting a meaningful cause - no prior fundraising experience needed
