River Ivel Community Energy are looking for a Secretary to support the their organisation

What You'll Do:

Are you organised, community-minded, and looking to make a real difference?

We’re seeking a Volunteer Secretary to support one or more of the community organisations within our group.

In this rewarding role, you’ll help keep things running smoothly by taking minutes, managing correspondence, and supporting the coordination of meetings. It’s a great opportunity to get involved behind the scenes, meet passionate local people, and contribute directly to the success of community initiatives.

What’s involved:

  • Attend meetings (monthly or fortnightly, usually in the early evening)
  • Some meetings take place in person, so being able to travel within Central Bedfordshire is important. However, remote help will also be considered!

Whether you have previous experience as a secretary or just strong organisational skills and enthusiasm to help, we’d love to hear from you!

Why You'll Love It:

We aim to empower individuals, groups, and organisations in the Ivel Valley by providing trusted advice on energy savings, implementing renewable energy projects, and coordinating local energy planning. Our goal is to make energy affordable, sustainable, and accessible for everyone. Partnering with Greensand Community Energy and Buzz Community Energy

We are a community energy group based in Central Bedfordshire. We have a team of very active Energy Champions giving free advice on everything from staying warm for less and avoiding damp through to domestic renewable technology.

What You'll Learn:

Not only will you learn the ins and outs of our organisation, but you'll also get to learn about how to get a renewable energy project off the ground and you'll get to see first-hand how the financial benefits can support a community.

What We're Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable, and enjoys helping things run smoothly behind the scenes. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, positive attitude are key.
