You will be working with trained colleagues to alleviate housing, benefits, mental health and other problems experienced by HUK's participants.
This exciting role provides experience across statutory services such as housing, mental health, social care and environmental health. Also within legislative frameworks such as the adult/child safeguarding, care act, mental capacity act, etc.
What we ask from you:
- Volunteering at HUK a minimum of one half-day (4 hours) each week.
- Providing accurate and timely support to those using the service.
- Maintain a caseload of up to four clients at each advice session.
- Complying with HUK's case-management procedures, training programme and other relevant policies and procedures.
- You will be reimbursed for any travel, including to and from the office.
- You will be reimbursed for up to £5 per session for a meal.
Hoarding Behaviour impacts between two and five percent of the population.
Despite this, there are few - if any - support pathways. HoardingUK works to provide support to people who hoard as well as to empower the services who should be supporting them, to support them better.
- Trainees/professionals with interest/experience in the legal field, as well as mental health, housing and social care.
- The ability to work sensitively and professionally with people facing difficult circumstances.
- A commitment to volunteering with us for one year.
- A commitment to values and ethos of HUK.
- £5 meal allowance for each session volunteering. We pay for travel to and from our offices.
Training on hoarding behaviour and other relevant areas will be provided.
