City Volunteering is part of the wider Student Development team. Within Student Development, we aim to offer you a range of experiences that help you develop personally and professionally, so that you can leave City as the complete graduate.
Career Volunteering
Choosing to volunteer is a great way to spend time. It can help you make new friends, meet people outside of your normal circle and develop confidence while doing something new. It can also help you to build on your existing skills and develop new ones in an entirely supportive and flexible environment.
This website enables you to search for opportunities to volunteer with organisations across London who have chosen to partner with us. You can filter the opportunities by the kinds of skill that you would like to develop, or you can look at the location of the opportunity.
Each time you volunteer through the site, you can record the hours that you have spent volunteering, so that you can easily reflect on how the experience of volunteering has changed you. This will help you stand out to employers when you come to apply for jobs, as you will be able to talk about a cause you are passionate about and give examples of how you have developed your skills with ease.
Types of volunteering
If you have never volunteered before, you might choose to apply for one-off or micro-volunteering opportunities. If you are looking to get more involved, there are lots of opportunities which would suit a regular commitment. Some students choose to set up their own projects to meet a need in the wider community.
