Location Brunswick Close Estate is situated next to City University’s Northampton Square Campus. A Council run housing estate, with an active TMO (Tenant Management Organisation) run by elected residents passionate about their homes, we are a friendly, diverse community. Looking for a flexible opportunity to fit around your studies which can be tailored to your skills? Want to help improve the local community? Interested in event organisation, project management, promoting diversity, the arts or culture?

We are looking for people like you to help us plan and deliver our 60th anniversary party. The theme is "belonging" and will represent the diverse cultures on the estate through activities and entertainment. Please ask for a copy of our brief for further details.

Your role will be attending bi-monthly meetings (approx. 1 hour) with the event committee, recording actions, feeding back progress, suggesting and implementing ideas.

Directed by a TMO supervisor, you will work with resident volunteers and local community groups, to help plan and deliver specific aspects of the event, reporting back to the committee/your contact.

Working towards a selection of delivery outcomes to aimed to:

• maximise community participation

• showcase the broad spectrum of cultural identities on the estate

• foster inclusion of socially excluded and vulnerable residents

You will liaise with tenants and the committee, researching options and how best to get people involved.

About you

Essential: Enthusiastic, good team worker, able to perform research, good interpersonal skills, able to follow instructions and evaluate

Desirable: Previous event organisation/planning experience or project management. Experience running cultural or other activities.
