Description

Join a dedicated team of volunteers supporting the work of Thomas Pocklington Trust and its associated charities to enable people with sight loss to develop independence and participate fully in communities across London.
Event volunteers meet, greet and support people who are blind or partially sighted to attend a range of group events across London. Events might include workshops, seminars, presentations or social events such as pub nights, quizzes, or meals out. Event volunteers help staff with registration, refreshments and clearing up as well as supporting people to take part in the event, which might include general conversation, facilitating groups, motivating, encouraging and confidence building

You should be aged 18+ and able to commit once a month for a minimum of six months. No formal experience is required as full induction and training will be provided for this role.
Not only will you have the opportunity to meet new people and develop your knowledge, skills and experience, but you will also be providing an invaluable service to people living with sight loss across London.

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

You will receive 1 full day induction including professional boundaries, safeguarding, vision awareness and sighted guide.
