Description

Raw footage is recorded using GoPros positioned on the surgeon’s head as well as footage from microscopes and other neurosurgical instruments. These videos are then edited and posted on our YouTube channel. They offer a unique opportunity for everyone to watch real brain surgery operations.

The videos are also used to supplement Twitter-based patient stories and global discussions.

Our audience ranges from neurosurgeons and medical students, to scientists, patients and the general public and therefore the aim of these videos varies greatly according to who will watch them.

Our pilot videos have all been real patient stories, and the candidate will help to create:

-Technical videos for neurosurgeons
-more stylised (but realistic) video content for the public and other healthcare professionals
- tutorials for medical students

Most importantly, you will have free-reign to come to use with interesting video ideas for YouTube and we will do our best to make them happen!

You get the unique opportunity to create and edit neurosurgery videos that will be seen and used globally, as well as having complete access to the neurosurgery operating theatre for as long as you have an honorary contract.
