Description

Volunteers required for Sunday (1-4pm) and Wednesday (1-3:30pm) advice sessions to work with marginalised members of the Clapton community.

Clapton Community Drop-in is a friendly and non-judgmental service. Visitors receive the support that they need to access services in the borough of Hackney.

Volunteers will receive training on issues that they will frequently encounter at the Drop-in (e.g. access to benefits, homelessness)

We run two sessions per week: a drop-in on Sundays, which operates in tandem with a soup kitchen, and a Jobs Club on Wednesdays.

Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one session per month.

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

Evening training sessions run throughout the year. Past sessions have included: homelessness, benefits, safeguarding, recognising abuse and de-escalation techniques.
