Hours per week 6 hours
Location The volunteer will be based in the London Head Office. Our office is located in Battersea, 10 minutes walk from Clapham Junction station, or buses 295, C3, 44 or 170.
Description

Imagine being confined to your home or moving to a new area where you know nobody and not knowing where to get your groceries – this is where we can help find the best options for the older people we support.

As a Silver Line Connects Volunteer, you would be helping to connect vulnerable older people to services in their local area and helping them to access those services. To find these services you will be doing online based research, emailing organisations as well as speaking to services and the older person you are helping over the telephone.

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

  • Interpersonal/Confidence
  • Teamwork
  • Planning/Organising

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

A full day training session will be provided for this role.

About you

Essential: A genuine desire to support older people and an understanding the issues they face.

Desirable: Warm, Good listener, IT Literate, Good verbal and written communication skills, Ability to manage own caseload.
