Description

Standing Voice is looking for a creative and ambitious volunteer who wishes to have a big impact on our growing charity! We are keen to recruit someone with initiative, fresh ideas and determination as we pursue our goal of ending human right violations against people with albinism in Africa. This voluntary role provides a unique opportunity for a driven individual to claim ownership over important aspects of our fundraising and communications work. The position is particularly aimed at those pursuing careers in the charity, international development, and communications sectors.

The Communications and Fundraising Volunteer will be able to gain valuable skills in and lead on the development of key communications and publicity materials. You will be given the opportunity to interview beneficiaries of Standing Voice's work; write copy for our website, leaflets and newsletters; contribute to intelligent and thought-provoking articles on key issues surrounding albinism in Sub-Saharan Africa; report on Standing Voice's events and finally lead on social media to engage stakeholders and increase outreach.

The volunteer will also be able to gain experience in the fundraising side of charity work through the support of development and composition of grant funding applications; develop our database of funding opportunities; represent Standing Voice at external fundraising events; provide support in developing fundraising resources and finally contributing to the development of individual giving income by managing relationships with individual supporters.

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

  • Interpersonal/Confidence
  • Teamwork
  • Problem solving/Creativity
  • Planning/Organising
  • Analytical/Research
