Hours per week 3 hours
Location Primary Schools in the Boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth and Brent. And a youth centre in Kilburn.
Description

A great volunteering opportunity, you'll be able to gain invaluable experience working with and inspiring children to try something new and feel great about themselves.

Activities Volunteers will be assisting and running dynamic and creative activity groups (or one-to-one sessions), including:

Sports / Art and crafts activities / Cooking / Music sessions / Academic support / Reading Help / Social and emotional skills groups

You will be working with children aged between 4 and 11 (you will have the choice of which age group, where possible, you want to work with).

You can bring whatever talents or passions you have to volunteer, we are happy to discuss new groups that currently aren't on offer - it could be circus skills, story-telling or film-making!

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

Volunteers will receive a general induction, Safeguarding and behaviour management training before they start, and ongoing access to free workshops to support their practice.

About you

The organisation has indicated the following requirements from volunteers who want to take this opportunity.

Essential: Volunteers need to be at least 20 years old, patient, reliable and positive role models.

Desirable: Previous experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferred.
