Computer Assistance for Holocaust Survivors at Association of Jewish Refugees

Our members want to learn how to use email/ play games/Skype/use an iPad etc. We are looking for volunteers to teach them.

Hours per week 1 hour
Location The Volunteering will take place at the client’s house. Our members live in north and west London and we will look for someone living close to the volunteer. AJR is refunding any expenses made for the journey.
Description

Volunteers need to help people with basic computing from sending emails, surfing the web, opening attachment to online gaming and creating Skype accounts. Some members are nervous working with computers and need help with very basic computer functions

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

Following a general interview and DBS check, you will meet the Computer Coordinator who will induct you into the programme. There will be on-going support and further training sessions on different issues, e.g. Dementia and Jewish Culture Awareness.

Essential: Very basic computer skills and good social and listening skills are required .

Desirable: Knowledge about the Jewish culture.
