Location The Volunteering will take place at the client’s house. Most of our members live in north or west London and we will look for someone living close to the volunteer. AJR is refunding any expenses made for the journey.
Description

If you are friendly and would like to spend some time with an elderly person this is the right opportunity for you! Our members are all Holocaust survivors and refugees and as they are all very old and sometimes lonely, they are happy to welcome a friendly person to their house to keep them company for about an hour a week, go for a walk or help them with their shopping.

This opportunity will assist you in gaining the following skills:

  • Interpersonal/Confidence
  • Teamwork

Training will be provided by the organisation for this position:

Following a general interview and DBS check, you will meet the Befriending Coordinator who will induct you into the programme. There will be on-going support and further training on different issues, e.g. Dementia and Jewish Culture Awareness

The organisation has indicated the following requirements from volunteers who want to take this opportunity.
