Start your own sustainability project or support the Sustainability team in its work around City University London

Location City University London (All campuses) and local community (Islington Area)

City University London is ranked as the greenest university in London and the 5th greenest in the UK (People & Planet University League, 2015). The Sustainability team at City is committed to ensuring that City continues to improve its performance in this area. We run a variety of schemes to embed sustainability across the University and to promote sustainable development in the community. One such scheme is the Sustainability Leaders programme for students. Under the programme, students can organise their own projects, campaigns or events on or off campus; or support the team’s existing projects and campaigns.
In the past, students have delivered Fairtrade workshops in local primary schools, organised competitions and activities to encourage recycling, provided media coverage of our events, written for our blog, helped us run events…the list is endless. We are looking for enthusiastic, creative and proactive students to work with us to achieve our goals. In return for volunteering with us, you will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of transferable skills and your efforts will be officially recognised at City’s annual Sustainability Awards ceremony.
