The Sustainability Team is committed to ensuring that City continues to improve its performance in this area and we run a variety of sustainability initiatives and events across the University.

Becoming a Sustainability Leader allows you to make a difference and gain new skills! As a Sustainability Leader, you can work as part of a student project team or as an individual to develop projects that make sustainability improvements on campus and in the local community. You’ll take your ideas and turn it into a project, from research, planning, budgeting to implementation. You can also sign up to support the team’s existing projects and campaigns.
In the past, students have delivered Fairtrade workshops in local primary schools, organised competitions and activities to encourage recycling, provided media coverage of our events, written for our blog, helped us run events…and we’re always available to support new ideas! We are looking for enthusiastic, creative and proactive students to work with us to achieve our goals. In return for volunteering with us, you will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of transferable skills and your efforts will be officially recognised at the annual Sustainable City Awards.
